Welcome...

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. The Foundation is a national organization with a network of volunteers working through local affiliates and Race for the Cure® events fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.
The Foundation is the nation's largest private funder of research dedicated solely to breast cancer. In addition to funding research, the National Grants Program funds innovative breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs for the medically under served. Hundreds of thousands of men and women receive the lifesaving message of early detection through Komen outreach efforts nationwide.
For more information about breast health or breast cancer, please call the Komen Foundation's National
Toll-Free Breast Care Help line 1-800-I'M AWARE (1-800-462-9273). For the most current breast cancer information visit the Komen Web Site (www.komen.org).
The Northeast Louisiana
Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established
in 1996.
Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds will be donated to Monroe area organizations working to eradicate breast cancer through research, education, screening and treatment. The remaining twenty-five percent of proceeds are forwarded to help fund the Komen Foundation's National Grant Program. A grants review process has been developed to award the local grants.
